GOTS CERTIFICATION
The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is the worldwide leading textile processing standard for organic fibres, including ecological and social criteria, backed up by independent certification of the entire textile supply chain.
Version 5.0 was published on 1st of March 2017, 3 years after the Version 4.0 was introduced and 12 years after the launch of the 1st Version. The high ecological and social requirements as well as word-wide practicability and verifiability were considered in the revision work, in order to achieve a reliable and transparent set of criteria.
GOLS CERTIFICATION
Control Union Certifications has pioneered the first global standard for organic latex: the Global Organic Latex Standard (GOLS). It is highly regarded, especially in the sleep products sector. GOLS outlines requirements for latex products made from organic raw materials, as well as for material from non-organic origins.
The standard addresses criteria for natural rubber from certified organic plantations (USDA NOP or EU) that is processed at manufacturing units. To achieve GOLS certification, a product must contain more than 95% of certified organic raw material. The GOLS standard features permissible limits for harmful substances, emission test requirements and polymer and filler percentages. Rubber plantations as well as processing units up to the final retailer are certified according to the standard. By using transaction certificates at every sale of a product in the supply chain, traceability from the plantation to the final retailer is ensured.
OEKO-TEX CERTIFIED
The STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® is a worldwide consistent, independent testing and certification system for raw, semi-finished, and finished textile products at all processing levels, as well as accessory materials used. Examples of articles that can be certified: raw and dyed/finished yarns, woven and knitted fabrics, accessories, such as buttons, zip fasteners, sewing threads or labels, ready-made articles of various types (garments of all types, domestic and household textiles, bed linen, terry products and much more).
Since its introduction in 1992, the central focus of the STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® has been the development of test criteria, limit values and test methods on a scientific basis.
